Wakka Wakka is an innovative award winning visual theatre company based in NYC. Led by Gabrielle Brechner, Kirjan Waage, and Gwendolyn Warnock, our mission is to create works that are bold, unique and unpredictable. Since 2001, Wakka Wakka has created and produced nine original works of theatre, which have toured extensively throughout the United States and abroad.
All of Wakka Wakka’s productions have been visual, overlapping in a wide range of styles including grotesque, absurd and clown, incorporating elements such as object manipulation, puppetry, masks, projection and original music. In addition to creating work in New York City, Wakka Wakka have been artists in residence at the Princeton University Atelier, Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center, Nordland Visual Theatre, as well as guest artists at The Eugene O'Neill Center for the Arts National Puppetry Conference.
